OREFIELD, PA (7/13/22) – Valley Youth House’s Camp Fowler will be hosting educational summer programming for youth, including Adventures in STEM Camp and Adventures in Leadership Camp. Both programs offer day camp and overnight camp options and deliver positive youth development programming to help young people establish the life skills needed for success.
Adventures in STEM Camp is an intensive educational experience that infuses STEM education with outdoor adventure-based therapeutic recreation. This program utilizes the agency’s behavioral health specialists alongside its certified adventure course facilitators, as well as STEM workshops and educational experiences provided by Da Vinci Science Center. This year’s Adventures in STEM Camp will take place from July 18, 2022 – July 21, 2022 (Day Camp), and July 25, 2022 – July 28, 2022 (Overnight Camp).
Adventures in Leadership Camp is an experiential-based program that focuses on the development of leadership skills, problem-solving, and teamwork through nature exploration and adventure-based challenge activities. This program helps youth strengthen self-esteem, enhance peer relationships, and develop independence and an improved sense of wellbeing. This year’s Adventures in Leadership Camp will take place from August 1, 2022 – August 4, 2022 (Day Camp), and August 8, 2022 – August 11, 2022 (Overnight Camp).

About Camp Fowler
Valley Youth House owns and operates Camp Fowler, a 43-acre property located in Orefield, PA. Camp programming provides outdoor therapeutic recreation and promotes healing and growth through adventure-based activities and experiential learning. Campers experience breakthroughs and healing, resulting in behavioral changes that lead to their future growth. The camp serves youth of all ages with a focus on those who would otherwise not have access to camp experiences. This population includes low-income children and youth, youth in foster care, and homeless youth, many of which have experienced significant trauma in their lives.
