2022 ALLENTOWN CITY-RUN EVENT DATES



The City of Allentown has locked in the dates and locations for the five city-run events for the 2022 calendar year.

  • ‘Juneteenth’ will occur on June 19 at Cedar Beach Park and Birney Crum Stadium
  • ‘Fourth of July’ will occur on July 4 at Cedar Beach Park and Birney Crum Stadium
  • ‘Classics & Cruisers on Hamilton’ will occur on August 14 in Downtown Allentown
  • ‘Fall in the City’ will occur on October 9 from the Fair Grounds to Downtown Allentown
  • ‘Lights in the Parkway’ will take place from November 25 to December 31 at Lehigh Parkway

Juneteenth the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Allentown will host a celebration and will honor local black leaders this day. There will be aquatics, basketball, football, entertainment, soul food vendors, and fireworks. Black owned businesses and entrepreneurs are encouraged to participate. The Fourth of July is a federal holiday commemorating the declaration of independence in the United States. Allentown will host an Independence Day celebration and honor active-duty military and veterans with free entrance to live performances and fireworks at J. Birney Crum Stadium. The family- friendly event will feature vendors and games at the entrance to the stadium on Linden Street. Vendor applications and updates can be found at www.allentownpa.gov/fireworks.

Classics & Cruisers on Hamilton is an annual event that recreates the renaissance of the ‘70s and early ‘80s cruising Allentown. Classic cars will line downtown streets allowing attendees to admire the engines and paint work of hundreds of cars. A police-escorted cruise will be held from Downtown Allentown to the Ritz. Prizes and trophies will be given out including the Mayor’s Choice award. The event benefits the Allentown Police Honor Guard. Fall in the City celebrates the change of seasons in Allentown through the annual Halloween Parade. The parade features several divisions of bands, dance groups, and organizations. It will step off from Allentown Fairgrounds and commence at 9th and Hamilton. Parade updates, route, and applications can be found at www.allentownpa.gov/fallfestival.

The 26th annual Lights in the Parkway drive through display transforms over a mile of Lehigh Parkway into a winter wonderland with thousands of dazzling lights. Proceeds from ticket sales goes to local nonprofit groups. Ticket information and updates can be found at www.allentownpa.gov/lightsintheparkway.
