HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS needs volunteers to donate wrapped shoeboxes filled with age- appropriate items for Lehigh Valley’s children in need. Suggested gift lists are provided on our website. ALLENTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT FOUNDATION needs adult volunteers to visit an Allentown School District kindergarten or first grade classroom for one hour per week to read with students and to assist with other literacy activities. CEDARBROOK SENIOR CARE AND REHAB – Fountain Hill & Allentown is looking for volunteers to come on a weekly basis 10-11:45 a.m. or 1:45-3:35 p.m. to assist with games, coloring and/or craft activities with our residents. GRACEDALE NURSING HOME, Nazareth is looking for gift wrappers for the nearly 500 gifts provided to our residents. Available shifts are 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 12/8, Thursday 12/9, and Friday 12/10 (if needed). Lunch will be provided. LEHIGH VALLEY CHILDREN’S CENTER is planning a holiday party for our staff and their families on Saturday, December 11 at Lehigh University, Iacocca Hall. We may have up to 200 in attendance. We would like adults (individuals or groups) to play our holiday elves and conduct activities for the children. Shifts begin at 8 a.m. with set up and end at 3:30 p.m. with clean up.
