Four days of free lessons began on Monday, August 9 and a second set of lessons began on Monday, August 16. An additional week is being added to try to meet demand.
Free Learn to Swim Lessons for Allentown residents only will be offered at Cedar Beach Pool, limited to 12 participants.

The department is the recipient of $5,000 in grant funding from the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance’s Step Into Swim program.
Funds from the Step Into Swim grant are being utilized by offering learn to swim sessions to young people who otherwise might not have the opportunity to participate in swimming lessons.
City pools follow all current CDC and PA Department of Health COVID-19 Guidelines. Pool and Spray Park users are highly encouraged not to attend or participate if they are experiencing signs of COVID-19 such as fever, coughing, shortness of breath and loss of taste or smell.
