Tuesday August 17, 2021 – As a follow up from the inaugural Paws at the Park event held in May 2021 at Grange Park in Upper Macungie Township, the Western Lehigh Chamber is excited to share the amount of funds raised for our local beneficiary, The Sanctuary at Haafsville. Thanks to our community we were able to give $1488 to this local nonprofit.
The Sanctuary at Haafsville is a safe haven for homeless cats and dogs.” In their first 11 years, they’ve saved over 10,000 animals and placed them in loving “furever” homes! In 2020, they placed almost 1,300 animals. They adhere to a No-Kill animal welfare philosophy which means they do not euthanize animals to create space. They partner with shelters that are overcrowded, they work with 14 Lehigh County and 1 Berks County municipalities to take in stray dogs and cats, rescue dogs and cats from natural disasters, accept dogs and cats from owners who need to relinquish them, and work to place animals into loving homes.
The Sanctuary at Haafsville is located at 901 Nestle Way, Breinigsville, PA 18031
