In its continuing effort to include meaningful resident participation in the planning and implementation of projects in the neighborhoods, the City of Allentown – with guidance from a core group of stakeholders in the 1st and 6th Wards – is holding a planning workshop on Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bucky Boyle Pavilion, 10 Pump Place, Allentown, PA (rain date is Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.).
This activity forms part of the neighborhood planning component of the City’s current comprehensive and economic development plan: Allentown Vision 2030.
The planning workshop will offer a variety of hands-on activities for all ages to identify community strengths and challenges as well as potential projects to make this neighborhood an even better place to live, work, and engage in leisure. The workshop is open to everyone, with activities available in both English and Spanish.
The 1st and 6th Wards – located between the Lehigh River and Jordan Creek and Sumner Avenue and Union Street – is the first area where neighborhood planning is being fulfilled.
