Affiliated Chambers of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce hosts State of the Counties Webinar
With the turmoil of the past year on so many different fronts, the landscape of our local government and educational institutions has drastically adjusted. Get an update from Lehigh and Northampton Counties as well as Lehigh Carbon Intermediate Unit and Colonial Intermediate Unit 20, all in a one-hour webinar from the comfort of your home or office.
Local government speakers will feature Lehigh County Executive Phillips Armstrong and Northampton County Executive Lamont McClure. Over the past year they’ve supported the Greater Lehigh Valley with various grant programs.
County Executive McClure shares, “this forum is one of the most informative in which I routinely participate.”
“As County Executive of Lehigh County, I cannot think of a better opportunity to share Lehigh County’s achievements in the past year. The pandemic has been tough on us all, but it is essential that we communicate with each other on where we are, what we need, and what will be done for the sake of our residents.” Said Lehigh County Executive, Phillips Armstrong. “I commend the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce for putting together this event and allowing Lehigh County the opportunity to present our current state of the county. There is always room for growth, and by all of us coming together, we can work towards a greater and brighter Lehigh Valley.”
Executive Vice President of Affiliated Chambers Jessica O’Donnell shares “Our county executives have truly led the charge to support our small and local businesses during the pandemic. They have thought outside the box and gone above and beyond to demonstrate support and show that we are truly all in this together, including a small business grant program that we at The Chamber were thrilled to assist with, directing $20 million back into the Lehigh Valley to give a lifeline to businesses throughout the Valley.”
To represent education, our speakers will be Dr Elaine Eib, Executive Director of Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit and Dr Christopher Wolfel, Executive Director of Colonial Intermediate Unit #20. Like all other industries, the only thing to focus on from the past year is how we’ve survived, and occasionally even thrived through the pandemic. Students have been impacted not being able to enjoy full-time in-person learning that is so critical to their development mentally, academically, and socially.
Attendees of this event will be muted and will have their videos turned off but will be able to submit questions throughout the program for the Q&A portion at the end after all four speakers have presented.
