One of the Lehigh Valley’s most well known auto dealerships will help lead fundraising efforts for Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley’s signature event, Bowl For Kids’ Sake, on March 6, 2016.
Allentown, PA – December 11, 2015 — Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley is pleased to introduce Rothrock Family Motors, as the honorary chair for Bowl For Kids’ Sake 2016. Bowl For Kids’ Sake is the agency’s signature event and largest fundraiser.
Rothrock Family Motors has been a supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley for many years, contributing both financially and volunteering. Dean Rothrock and his wife, Lynn, have been a Big Couple, matched with their current Little Brother since October 2011.
As Honorary Chair, Rothrock Family Motors will play a vital role in publicizing and fundraising for the one day fundraiser. “Rothrock Family Motors is excited and honored to be a part of Bowl For Kids’ Sake 2016. We look forward to seeing everyone on the lanes to bowl for a good cause.” says Dave Rothrock.
“Having been a Big in this program for the past four years, I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact that mentoring has on our youth. What better way to help our community than to get behind a local non-profit helping better the lives of youth in our community, who will one day, be our community leaders.” added Dean Rothrock.
Rothrock Family Motors is not the only one excited about this partnership. Susan Bartels, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley says, “We are so grateful to have Rothrock Family Motors as our honorary chair. We appreciate their community mindset and we look forward to a successful event.”
Bowl For Kids’ Sake 2016 will be held on Sunday, March 6 at AMF Parkway Lanes in Allentown. The event expects to welcome 800 to 1,000 bowlers from small businesses, large corporations, unions, and individuals. Proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley. The overall event fundraising goal is $200,000. To help the agency reach its goal, visit bowlforkids.bbbslv.org to register or become a sponsor.
About Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley
Since 1970, Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, holds itself accountable for children in its program to achieve measurable outcomes, such as educational success; avoidance of risky behaviors; and higher aspirations, greater confidence and better relationships. Partnering with parents/guardians, schools, corporations and others in the community, Big Brothers Big Sisters carefully pairs children (“Littles”) with qualified, trained, and screened volunteers (“Bigs”) and monitors and supports these one-to-one mentoring matches throughout their course.
In the 2014-2015 fiscal year, Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley, a United Way Partner Agency, served 347 Lehigh and Northampton County children in one-to-one mentoring relationships.
Big Brothers Big Sisters provides children facing adversity, often those of single or low-income households or families where a parent is incarcerated or serving in the military, with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. This mission has been the cornerstone of the organization’s 100-year history. The organization is engaged in a nationwide search to reunite with alumni mentors, mentees, donors, and family, staff and board members.
