The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber, proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, is gearing up for a memorable 2020 holiday season!

The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber is excited to present a brand-new event to the communities of Slatington Borough, Walnutport Borough and Washingtown Township with a House Decorating Contest! Light up the town with inflatables, garlands, wreaths, and more to enjoy throughout the holiday season and submit your home (or the address of a home you admire) through the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber’s application (found here).

Andy Gildner, Chair of the GNLCC Board, said, “In a year of physical distancing, our events committee wanted to have a safe way for our community to show Christmas cheer.  The house decorating contest is one way to show our fellow neighbors good will and joy.  We encourage our neighbors and friends to nominate the ‘Clark Griswold’ of their neighborhood.”

Prizes will be awarded to the top contender in each Borough or Township, with a special gift going to our Grand Prize Winner. “With an eye to our local businesses, a gift certificate to a local restaurant is up for grabs” said Kylie Adams, Manager of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “That, of course, and good, old fashioned bragging rights.”

The Board of Directors will be judging homes submitted and announce winners via Facebook on December 18th. (Please note: submissions will only be considered for Slatington Borough, Walnutport Borough and Washington Township. Submissions will be accepted until December 15th.)
