BETHLEHEM, PA (December 4, 2020)—The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) Theatre Department will present its annual Children’s Show virtually this year.   Written, produced, directed, and performed by the senior theatre class, The Mirror Warriors of Harmony Hills is a fun-filled web series that will be released in four separate episode installments.

The story centers around a magical world where four characters work together to defeat the evil dragon keeping them apart.  On the journey, they discover that, even in the toughest of times, teamwork and friendship can get them through.

For the past fifteen years, the senior theatre class at Charter Arts has produced a children’s show for which they invite area elementary teachers and students to the high school theatre to enjoy the show for free. The theatre class has also taken the show ‘on tour’ in the past to regional libraries, community centers, etc.  This year, even though the class could not perform to a packed house of youngsters in person, they decided to create a virtual version that will be distributed to teachers to share with their classes.  In addition, they are releasing the streamed episodes to the general public to enjoy as well.

“The children’s show has become a tradition in our theatre program, something the seniors look forward to in their final year at Charter Arts,’ said Ashley Weller, theatre faculty member and advisor for the production. “Sadly, last year we were not able to perform due to the pandemic. So this year we wanted to make sure we were able to perform no matter what. And the idea of a play that was broken up into episodes became the perfect solution. The seniors jumped in and have worked incredibly hard to put their performance together. Everything was done virtually or remotely – which is not an easy task – but these students did not want to miss out on their opportunity to give back to the community and bring theatre to little ones.”

The first episode will launch December 11-13, 2020, with 7 PM showings each day and 10 AM showings on December 12 & 13th.  Tickets to the streamed show are just $5 general admission and can be purchased on the school’s ticket line: https://www.showtix4u.com/events/charterarts.

The show is recommended for ages 5-9. Additional episodes will premiere monthly from January through March 2021.
