The Allentown Arts Commission announces that nominations are now being sought for the Allentown Arts Commission’s 32^nd Annual Arts Ovation Awards Celebration to be held in Allentown May 11, 2023. The event celebrates Allentown’s outstanding achievements in the Arts.

“We are returning large! With recent events, it’s more important than ever for our arts community to rally and celebrate the dedication and creativity we’ve seen throughout our city,” said Jane Heft, Allentown Arts Commission Chair. “It is an incredible achievement to be nominated alongside this passionate and prestigious group of previous recipients.”

The public is invited to submit their nominations in writing or via email in the following seven categories:

1. Outstanding Achievement in Visual Arts: An individual and/or Arts organization.
2. Outstanding Achievement in Performing Arts: An individual and/or Arts organization.
3. Outstanding Achievement in Literary Arts: An individual and/or Arts organization.
4. Outstanding Philanthropy: An individual and/or Arts organization.
5. Outstanding Service: An individual and/or organization who has had a major impact on the arts through exceptional service, volunteerism, or leadership.
6. Outstanding Educator in the Arts: An individual and/or organization who has made an outstanding impact on their students in the arts.
7. Emerging Artist Award: An award given for emerging or up-and-coming talent.

 

Eligibility Guidelines:  Individuals or organizations whose achievements have had a significant
and positive impact on the citizens of Allentown and the quality of life in the Allentown Arts &
Cultural Community. Award recipients will be selected from the nominations received by the Arts Ovation Committee.

Nominations must be submitted by no later than February 17, 2023 by 4pm. Each must contain the name, address, phone number and email of the nominee, as well as the specific category of the nominee.  A summary is requested stating why the nominee meets the qualifications for the award.
