June 13, 2022: The Celtic Cultural Alliance has announced its music line-up for the 35th annual celebration of the Celtic Classic Highland Games and Festival, which will take place on September 23-25, 2022, in downtown Bethlehem.
“We are excited this year that many of our crowd favorites are returning, like Gerry Timlin, The Steel City Rovers and Low Lily. “Being an anniversary year, we tried to cover all the Celtic genres from trad to Celtic rock” explained Jayne Ann Recker, Executive Director. Across the Pond, Dave North Trio and The McKrells will satisfy fans of the traditional while The Kilmaine Saints, Emish and the Glengarry Bhoys will raise the tempo. Local favorites Fig For a Kiss and Chivalrous Crickets return as well. Visitors will be surrounded with the distinct Celtic sound of tin whistles, bag pipes and fiddles wherever they are on the grounds.
The Celtic Classic has 5 free stages of Celtic music throughout the festival grounds and in the Ice House. World class Celtic entertaines will perform over 100 hours of free Celtic music. Many of the Celtic tunes are the traditional Irish jigs, shanties, drinking songs and ballads combined with a lyrical story-telling.
In addition to musical performances, O’Grady Quinlan Irish Academy of Dance will have several performances throughout the festival weekend. With precision footwork and dazzling costumes, O’Grady Quinlan shares the Irish culture through their performances. Cultural presentations will be held throughout the day in Celtic Heritage Hollow, including musical workshops, a Scottish shortbread baking contest, lectures, clans & societies and the Children’s Activity Tent.
Celtic Classic will also see the return of Gene Sheninger of Wayside Farm. Sheninger will demonstrate how border collies can herd sheep and ducks. Border collies have been used for herding for hundreds of years in the Celtic nations.

About the Celtic Cultural Alliance
On Columbus Day weekend in 1988, the first Celtic Classic was presented by a small group of individuals. The goal of this dedicated group was to create an event that symbolized the Celtic spirit and history, and to provide the impetus for an organization that focused on promoting the Celtic culture. This group has now evolved into Celtic Cultural Alliance to better communicate the overall goals of the organization.
The CCA has expanded with year-round programming to support the mission of promoting and preserving Celtic Culture through arts, music, literature, dance, and history programs. In keeping with the spirit of “Next Generation”, the CCA also offers scholarships to promising young students of the Celtic Arts. These yearly scholarships are offered to students of the arts, including Irish Step Dance, Highland Dance, Fiddle, and Bagpipes.
The Celtic Classic has blossomed into one of the largest Highland Games and Festival in North America. Annually, over 250,000 visitors come to Historic Bethlehem to join in this celebration of all things Celtic. The organization has expanded into year-round programs. Our educational programming has expanded to include community outreach events in area school districts, religious institutions, local theaters and colleges throughout the Lehigh Valley. A series of scholarships are awarded each year in varied areas of Celtic culture.
