Alan Jennings Will Host First Forum Featuring Congressional Candidates<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>(Lehigh Valley, PA)<\/strong> WDIY 88.1 FM, Lehigh Valley Public Radio, announced today that the two candidates for the open seat in Pennsylvania\u2019s newly-created 7th<\/sup> Congressional District will be appearing together on \u201cLehigh Valley Discourse,\u201d WDIY\u2019s weekly public affairs program. Alan Jennings, long-time executive director of the Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley, will host the one-hour discussion with Republican Marty Nothstein and Democrat Susan Wild.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone interested in a rumble will be disappointed. The show is called \u2018Discourse\u2019 for a reason: we are interested in reasoned discussions on the tough issues of our time,\u201d Jennings said, adding, \u201cI will not allow personal attacks or anything that doesn\u2019t contribute to informing the 7th<\/sup> District\u2019s voters on how the candidates view the issues they are likely to confront when they show up for work in January.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show will be recorded on Monday, September 10, at 11 AM in WDIY\u2019s South Bethlehem studio located at 301 Broadway. The show will air on Thursday, September 13<\/span>, from 6 to 7 PM<\/span> on 88.1 FM as well as streaming at wdiy.org<\/a>. The program also will be available for listening on wdiy.org<\/a> beginning the following day.<\/p>\n

Two reporters selected by Jennings and WDIY will be given an opportunity to be present and report on the discussion.<\/p>\n

WDIY is the Lehigh Valley\u2019s NPR station, providing the Lehigh Valley with NPR news, a wide diversity of music and locally-produced public affairs programs.\u00a0 The station is heard on 88.1 FM throughout the entire Lehigh Valley with additional signals on 93.7 FM in Fogelsville\/Trexlertown and 93.9 FM in Easton\/Phillipsburg.
