The recognition honors an organization for outstanding commitment to the students in the program.<\/p>\n<p>As a preceptor, KidsPeace provides opportunities for student rotations and mentorships with its medical staff at its Berks Campus, the KidsPeace Children\u2019s Hospital or in its Pennsylvania residential treatment program on the Orchard Hills Campus in Orefield, PA.\u00a0 Over the past year, 14 of the 17 students in the DeSales program had clinical experiences at KidsPeace \u2013 more than any other clinical site.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt KidsPeace, our students are welcomed, respected and treated like professionals from the very beginning,\u201d said Dr. Renee Koval, assistant professor in DeSales\u2019 Department of Nursing and Health and the coordinator of its Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.\u00a0 \u201cKidsPeace staff were able to accommodate some students at the last minute without any disruption of their experience, and all of the students who did rotations at KidsPeace speak very highly of the organization and its staff,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Koval noted that her program\u2019s connection with KidsPeace has led to one recent graduate joining its staff, while at least one current student has expressed interest in doing so after they graduate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKidsPeace is honored to have been recognized in this way by our partners at DeSales University.\u00a0 We are pleased to be part of the education for new nurse practitioners training in the behavioral health field,\u201d said Diane Huntoon, director of physician services at KidsPeace.<\/p>\n<p><em>For more than 135 years, KidsPeace has been building on its expertise to give hope, help and healing to children, families and communities throughout the United States.
