The City of Allentown\u2019s 4th<\/sup> of July Celebration & Street Festival will take place along Linden Street at J. Birney Crum Stadium on Saturday, July 4, from 5:30pm-10pm.\u00a0 The festival features live music, family friendly entertainment, delicious food options from local and regional mobile food vendors and a rousing fireworks show.<\/p>\n

The 4th<\/sup> of July Celebration & Street Festival is a free event open to the public.\u00a0 All the fun begins at 5:30pm on Linden Street, with performances including urban dance moves by XCAPE Hip Hop Dance Group, patriotic music by the Allentown Municipal Band, and dance party music by the UUU Party Band.<\/p>\n

The Allentown Patriotic Pet Parade will again take place on Linden Street <\/span>at the festival.\u00a0 Entrants should pre-register through Friends of the Allentown Parks at http:\/\/www.allentownparks.org\/<\/a> or register at the event from 5:30 \u2013 6:00pm.\u00a0 The pet parade will take place from 6:15 \u2013 6:30pm, with prizes for best Pet & Pal Combo, Best in Show, and Most Patriotic Pet.<\/p>\n

New for 2015 is a basketball skills competition for boys and girls ages 13 \u2013 18 that will take place from 6:30 \u2013 8:00pm.\u00a0 Children will compete individually in such skills as 3-point shot, free-throw shooting and a 100-yd dash.\u00a0 Winners in each age category will receive a gift certificate to The Archive.\u00a0 Participants may pre-register by calling the Recreation Office at 610-437-7757, or register at the festival between 5:30 \u2013 6:15pm.<\/p>\n

Food vendors and food trucks will be spread out at the street festival featuring authentic cuisine from Puerto Rican Culture Preservation and Jerkies \u201cJamaican BBQ.\u201d\u00a0 Popcorn Pit will offer kettle corn, popcorn and a variety of nuts.\u00a0 Lillo Mobile snacks will be serving an assortment of Italian Ice flavors.\u00a0 Endless Concessions will offer fresh squeezed lemonade, orangeade, chocolate covered fruit, cannoli and cheesecake.\u00a0 The Bees Knees Grill will be offering gourmet grilled cheese and refreshing teas.\u00a0 MMG Concessions will offer fresh made-to-order wraps, taco salads, and funnel cake.\u00a0 Hany Honey Ice Cream will offer a variety of soft serve ice cream.\u00a0 OMG Smoothies will be serving a variety of fruit\/vegetable real ingredient smoothies.\u00a0 Kona Ice will be serving an assortment of Hawaiian shaved ice with amazing flavors.<\/p>\n

Entertainment will begin in J. Birney Crum Stadium at 6:00pm including performances by the award-winning Scott Marshall Highway Band and by the elite dancers of Sharon Plessl School of Dance.\u00a0 The Lehigh Valley Skydivers are returning to perform their daring jumps, and Isabell Solano will lead us in singing the National Anthem. The night will be capped by a brilliant 4th<\/sup> of July fireworks show.<\/p>\n

Celebration Fireworks Inc. of Kutztown is again producing this year\u2019s fireworks show.\u00a0 The show will be bigger and better than ever for 2015!<\/p>\n

Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the Linden Street Festival.<\/p>\n
