Allentown, Pa. (Feb. 12, 2018) \u2014 In the largest round of elected-official endorsements yet for any Democrat in the race for the 15th Congressional District, Susan Wild for Congress today announced the support of five current and former Allentown City Council members.<\/p>\n

Current Council members Courtney Robinson, Candida Affa, and Cynthia Mota, as well as former Council President Ray O\u2019Connell and former Councilperson David McGuire commended Wild\u2019s successful tenure as Allentown City Solicitor and praised her dedication to public service in the following statements:<\/p>\n

\u201cAs City Solicitor, Susan Wild did exemplary work in a difficult position. It\u2019s not easy to serve both the City Council and the Mayor\u2019s office, which are often in conflict, but Susan did it skillfully and with the utmost professionalism. Just as Allentown and its taxpayers benefitted from Susan\u2019s dedication and work as a public servant, I have no doubt the entire 15th Congressional District will be better off with her as its advocate in Washington.\u201d

\u201cDuring my two years serving on the City Council, I had the pleasure of working with Susan Wild and seeing the outstanding job she did as City Solicitor. I especially appreciated her work on water issues requiring the city\u2019s action under orders from the EPA; and I know she\u2019ll be a strong defender of our environment in Congress. Today\u2019s announcement is the latest among a February flurry of endorsements for Wild \u2014 coming within just one week of statements of support from former County Executive Tom Muller and Lehigh County state Reps. Peter Schweyer and Mike Schlossberg.<\/p>\n

Wild, one of Pennsylvania\u2019s top attorneys and the first female Solicitor of the City of Allentown, is leading a campaign focused on supporting the working class through health care equality, defending Social Security and Medicare, and securing quality jobs for residents of the 15th District.<\/p>\n
