CATASAUQUA, Pa. (Oct. 30, 2026)<\/strong> Lux Laundry, a family-owned laundry pickup and delivery service on Front Street in Catasauqua, offers a laundry service built for older adults who live on their own. A driver collects the laundry at the door, Lux washes and folds it at its Catasauqua shop, and the order comes back the next business day.<\/p>\n

For many seniors, laundry is one of the first chores to get hard. Washers are often in the basement, and carrying a full basket up and down the stairs is a real fall risk. Lux’s service removes that step. The customer leaves a bag outside the door on pickup day and does not need to be home, and any bag works.<\/p>\n

The service is often booked by an adult son or daughter. Family members can create the account, add a parent’s address as the pickup spot and choose a weekly schedule online, even if they live out of state. They get a text when the driver is on the way and another when the clean laundry is back. Seniors who would rather not use a computer can book by phone or text at (484) 246-9163<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“A lot of our calls come from sons and daughters who were driving over every weekend to do Mom’s laundry,” said Joey owner of Lux Laundry. “Now they set it up once, their parent puts the bag out, and everyone gets their weekend back.”<\/p>\n

Each order is washed separately in commercial machines and never mixed with another customer’s laundry. Hypoallergenic detergent is available for sensitive skin. Sheets, towels and blankets are accepted.<\/p>\n

For seniors, Lux recommends its Light Load monthly plan: 60 pounds of laundry a month for $105, about $1.75 per pound, picked up on a set weekly day so nobody has to remember to book. Pickup and delivery are free, and the plan has no contract and can be cancelled anytime.<\/p>\n
