The two resorts are introducing distinct improvements for the 2026-2027 ski season, giving skiers and snowboarders new terrain and experiences to discover throughout the winter.

New Terrain Takes Center Stage at Camelback Resort

For the first time in 30 years, Camelback Resort is adding new trails to its mountain, expanding its ski experience to 45 trails for the 2026-2027 season. The three new trails give skiers and snowboarders more terrain to explore across a range of ability levels and make Camelback home to the most trails of any ski resort in the Poconos.

The new trails include a double-black-diamond trail at the top of the Stevenson Lift that connects to Pharaoh’s; a blue-square trail branching off the skiers’ left of Upper Cleopatra and connecting to Big Pocono; and a black-diamond trail beneath Black Bear 6 that provides a new route from Basilisk to John Bailey.

Camelback is also introducing Alpine Outpost, a new food-and-beverage destination along the Coolmoor teaching trail, where the majority of the resort’s ski and snowboard lessons take place. The new on-mountain offering will give parents and guests a convenient place to grab food and beverages while watching the action on the teaching hill. A new hot chocolate bar will also debut off the ski trail coming from Upper Cleopatra, giving skiers and snowboarders another place to warm up and enjoy a seasonal favorite.

Supporting the expanded terrain, the Bailey Lift is scheduled to be operational on opening day with a new gearbox, providing additional lift capacity throughout the winter season. All of Camelback’s lifts have also been repainted in evergreen as part of a broader effort to refresh the mountain while maintaining the character of the Pocono landscape.

Blue Mountain Resort Lights Up the Mountain

Blue Mountain Resort’s focus for the 2026-2027 season is enhancing the nighttime skiing experience and continuing to advance snowmaking infrastructure.

Blue Mountain is installing 315 new LED trail lights, making the mountain 100% LED lit. New lighting is being added to Vista, Easy Out, School Hill, Come Around, Lazy Mile, Tut’s Lane, Sidewinder and Valley School East/West as part of the resort’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and focusing on energy-efficient lighting.

The resort is also installing new underground pipe on School Hill and Vista to expand snowmaking capabilities and is upgrading Creekside pumphouse with automated pump control technology, further advancing the mountain’s snowmaking infrastructure.

The latest improvements build on Blue Mountain’s ongoing investment in snowmaking technology, following previous upgrades designed to increase snow production, improve efficiency and support terrain availability.

About Blue Mountain Resort

Blue Mountain Resort is a year-round resort located along the Kittatinny Ridge in the Pocono Mountain region adjacent to the Appalachian Trail near Palmerton, Pennsylvania.
