St. Luke\u2019s University Health Network hospitals have received the highest possible quality rating \u2013 five stars \u2013 from the annual quality and safety hospital review conducted by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS).<\/p>\n
St. Luke\u2019s was the only health network in the Lehigh Valley to receive the best ratings, which were recently updated by the federal government.<\/p>\n
\u201cSt. Luke\u2019s is proud to consistently earn the highest rankings for superior quality and outcomes, which contributes to the health and wellbeing of our community,\u201d SLUHN Vice President & Chief Quality Officer Donna Sabol said. \u201cThis achievement belongs to our 23,000 employees, who have unwavering commitment to all-around excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n
The CMS ratings are based on a composite of 52 quality measures including safety and value of care, readmission, infection, complication rates, mortality, patient experience, effectiveness and timeliness of care and efficient use of medical imaging.<\/p>\n
Nationwide, an elite 12 percent of 3,200 eligible hospitals earned five stars. Of 12 eligible St. Luke\u2019s acute care hospitals, nine received five stars:<\/p>\n
Remarkably, of Pennsylvania\u2019s 189 eligible hospitals, half of the 20 that earned five stars were St. Luke\u2019s hospitals.<\/p>\n

A CMS tool \u2014 called\u00a0Hospital Compare<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 is a consumer-oriented website that provides information on how well hospitals provide recommended care to their patients. The star ratings and other information provided by the tool can help consumers make informed decisions about where to go for health care.<\/p>\n CMS\u2019s updated five-star ratings reaffirm St. Luke\u2019s standing among the best of the best health care providers according to the federal government. In a 2025 study by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, St. Luke\u2019s received the highest quality score of the nation\u2019s recognized three highest performing health systems.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n About St. Luke\u2019s<\/strong><\/p>\n Founded in 1872, St. Luke\u2019s University Health Network (SLUHN) is a fully integrated, regional, non-profit network with annual net revenue of more than $4.5 billion.
