Lehigh Valley, PA \u2014 August 2026 <\/strong>\u2014 September is Save Your Photos Month<\/strong>, an annual campaign by The Photo Managers <\/strong>encouraging families to organize, digitize, safeguard and preserve the photographs, videos and stories that make up their family histories.<\/p>\n

For Melissa Draving, owner of Here For You Concierge, preserving family memories has become an increasingly important part of the company’s work. As a Certified Photo Manager through The Photo Managers for the past five years<\/strong>, Draving has helped families take control of collections ranging from photographs and slides to home movies, DVDs, film reels, audio recordings and thousands of digital files.<\/p>\n

The work has grown organically from Here For You Concierge’s existing relationships with clients.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur photo management services really grew out of our concierge work,\u201d said Draving. \u201cClients were already asking us to help with everyday tasks, and eventually they began asking, \u2018Can you help me with my photos?\u2019 We realized there was a real need for someone who could not only digitize memories, but also help families organize and protect them.\u201d<\/p>\n

From Grocery Shopping to Family History<\/h2>\n

One of the company’s first photo-related projects came from a grocery-shopping client who asked Here For You Concierge to pick up a collection of photo slides and have them converted to a USB drive.<\/p>\n

That initial request led to additional photo and memory-preservation projects and eventually to Draving pursuing professional certification through The Photo Managers.<\/p>\n

The Certified Photo Manager program includes education in areas such as safely transporting client collections, appropriate storage and backup procedures, taking inventory of large collections, estimating photo quantities, managing projects and protecting client privacy. Certification also requires a professional project to be submitted for review, and Certified Photo Managers must recertify every two years to keep their knowledge and practices current.<\/p>\n

Today, Here For You Concierge offers photo management services that can help clients digitize, organize, back up and preserve family memories in a way that makes them accessible for future generations.<\/p>\n

From an iPad to a Family Archive<\/h2>\n

One recent project involved a family preparing to create albums for three children. The client sent an iPad containing the family’s extensive photo collection to Here For You Concierge for backup.<\/p>\n

The team safely transferred the collection to an external hard drive, meticulously verified the transfer, separated video files and organized the photographs into a structured archive.<\/p>\n

The final collection was organized by child, year and event and will be used by a professional photographer from a large, established photography studio to create albums documenting each child’s life.<\/p>\n

\u201cProjects like this require a tremendous amount of attention to detail,\u201d said Draving. \u201cOur goal is to make sure the family’s memories are safely preserved and organized in a way that makes them useful and accessible to the people who will be working with them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Preserving More Than Photographs<\/h2>\n

Photo management isn’t limited to digital photographs.<\/p>\n

Another recent client had recently moved to the area and hired Here For You Concierge for unpacking and organizing. During the project, the team discovered boxes containing family photographs and a collection of partially digitized family memories.<\/p>\n

The materials included family history albums, wedding photographs, World War II photographs, video tapes, film reels, audio cassettes, slides, Kodachrome film, VHS and VHS-C tapes, Super 8 and Hi-8 video, and 35mm slides.<\/p>\n

Here For You Concierge coordinated the preservation of the collection and ultimately delivered more than 200 GB of organized digital family memories on a single USB drive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The project transformed a collection of boxes and assorted media formats into an accessible digital archive that could be shared and preserved by the family.<\/p>\n

Bringing Home Movies Into the Digital Age<\/h2>\n

Another client approached Here For You Concierge after realizing that his family’s home movies, previously transferred from VHS tapes to DVDs, needed a more accessible and secure backup.<\/p>\n

The DVDs were digitized into high-quality video files, organized into more than 500 individual clips and labeled according to the memories they contained, including birthdays, school performances and family gatherings.<\/p>\n

The family also received multiple USB backups, giving different family members their own copies of the collection. The videos were also made available through a private streaming platform so family members could enjoy them without relying on outdated DVD technology.<\/p>\n

The project demonstrated that preserving family memories isn’t simply about converting an old format into a new one. It’s about making those memories accessible and usable for the people who will carry the family story forward.<\/p>\n
