August 12, 2026<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 After 10 days (and a preview night) of music, comedy, food, art and community celebration, Musikfest 2026 wrapped another memorable year in Bethlehem. From\u00a0<strong>July 31 through August 9,<\/strong>\u00a0with a preview night on July 30, the nation\u2019s largest music festival featured 400+ performers, 500+ performances and programming across 16 stages, including 15 free stages and the Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza.<\/p>\n<p>Despite challenging weather conditions during periods of the festival, Musikfest welcomed 1,260,630 attendees, marking the third-best attended festival in its 43-year history, broke weekday records and reached a new app milestone, demonstrating the enduring strength of the festival and its ability to draw visitors to Bethlehem from across the country and around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Musikfest 2026 by the numbers included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1,260,630 in attendance, from 46 states, Washington, DC and 3 countries (including Canada, Portugal, South Korea)<\/li>\n<li>52,890 headliner tickets sold, including two sold out shows with Yellowcard and Taking Back Sunday and \u201cWeird Al\u201d Yankovic with special guest Puddles Pity Party electrifying capacity crowds at the Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza<\/li>\n<li>Record-setting Monday and Tuesday attendance with Monday up 6.2% over 2025 and Tuesday surpassing the previous record by 15.06%. Headlining performances from Train and \u201cWeird Al\u201d Yankovic, favorable weather and strong activity across the festival grounds helped fuel both banner days<\/li>\n<li>A record 39,075 Musikfest App powered by PNC users, with the previous annual record surpassed by Wednesday of the festival\u2014more than a week earlier than 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWelcoming more than 1.26 million people to Bethlehem over 10 days and 11 nights is an extraordinary reminder of the strength of Musikfest and the connection people have to this festival,\u201d said Kassie Hilgert, President and CEO of ArtsQuest. \u201cThis year certainly tested everyone with stretches of heat and humidity and storms that temporarily interrupted programming, but our community continued to show up. That resilience is part of what makes Musikfest so special. Even with a few weather challenges, more than a million people came together to experience music, food, art and community\u2014and that is something worth celebrating.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Across more than 50 acres, Musikfest offered festivalgoers countless ways to experience the \u2018Fest, from live music spanning genres and generations to local and regional food, artisan and craft vendors, family activities, visual arts, comedy and more. With 15 free stages and the ticketed Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza, the festival once again transformed Bethlehem into an all-encompassing celebration of music, arts and community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery summer, Musikfest puts Bethlehem on an international stage and gives more than a million visitors the opportunity to experience everything our city has to offer,\u201d said Bethlehem Mayor J. We\u2019re proud to once again welcome visitors from near and far and grateful to everyone who works together to make Musikfest such an important part of Bethlehem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Music<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Wind Creek Steel Stage welcomed a diverse lineup of national acts with Grupo Niche, Russell Dickerson, John Mulaney, Third Eye Blind, Train, \u201cWeird Al\u201d Yankovic, T.I. with special guest DaBaby, Bailey Zimmerman, Parker McCollum, Yellowcard and Taking Back Sunday and AJR.<\/p>\n<p>The Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza also welcomed local and regional talent to the stage as opening acts. Lilly Moss, a Bethlehem native, opened for Russell Dickerson ahead of her two sets at free stages on the North Side of the festival: the Institute for Moravian History and World Heritage and Moravian Church Settlements \u2013 Main Street stage and Yuengling Lagerplatz. TheRealZellyZel, an East Stroudsburg native and Kuf Knotz and Christine Elise, a Philadelphia based duo, opened for T.I. with special guest DaBaby. And Gillian Smith, a Mechanicsburg native, opened for Bailey Zimmerman.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s free stage lineup featured more than 400 artists performing 500+ free musical performances across 15 stages. Thirty-four percent of these acts were homegrown talent from right here in the Lehigh Valley, while the remaining performers represented 20 different states as well as 10 countries including Canada, Colombia, the UK, Dominican Republic, South Korea, Germany, Finland, Mexico and Ireland. The result was a truly global mix of sounds and styles with local artists, national touring acts, multicultural performances, familiar favorites and emerging talent.<\/p>\n<p>Some free stage highlights included Ryan Cabrera and The Verve Pipe at Air Products Americaplatz at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks.\u00a0Insun\u00a0Park &amp; Generals performed at both Air Products Americaplatz at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks and the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America Zinzenplatz, and returning fan favorite The Amish Outlaws brought the house down at Service Electric Festplatz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the things we\u2019re most proud of at Musikfest year after year is the opportunity to put local and emerging artists on stages alongside nationally and internationally recognized performers,\u201d said Patrick Brogan, Chief Programming Officer at ArtsQuest. \u201cMusikfest has always been about giving artists a stage and audiences the opportunity to find their next favorite performer, and this year\u2019s lineup truly embodied that. Generating over $108.3 million in economic impact for Bethlehem and the Lehigh Valley, Musikfest 2026 attracted more than 1 million visits over 10 days from across the U.S. and around the world.\u00a0Nearly 40%\u00a0of ArtsQuest programming remain free and accessible, ensuring the arts thrive for everyone while showcasing the region\u2019s music, food and creativity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Food and Artisans\/Crafters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Whether you\u00a0were\u00a0hungry, hunting for handmade works of art or ready to shop, Musikfest delivered with over 50 food vendors, 37 artisans and 9 retailers.\u00a0\u00a0Joining fan favorites like Aw Shucks and Heaven on a Bun were new popular food vendors including Waffl\u2019d and MoMos of Tibet in Air Products Americaplatz, Milk Train in Handwerkplatz sponsored by the ArtsQuest Creative Factory, Magnolia\u2019s Soul and Spice and Gray\u2019s Area Grill at the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America Zinzenplatz, Batch Microcreamery at PNC Stadtplatz and Homer\u2019s Girls at the Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza. In addition, Handwerkplatz welcomed several new artisan vendors, including Alex N Crafts, KBWhite Farm and the Little Loops.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Volunteers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Volunteers once again helped power Musikfest, supporting guests, artists, vendors and staff throughout the 10-day celebration while helping create the welcoming atmosphere that defines the festival. Upwards of 1,000 volunteers donated their time and talents this year, including 28 groups of local businesses and organizations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMusikfest simply wouldn\u2019t be Musikfest without our volunteers,\u201d said Cory Stevens, Volunteer Program Manager, ArtsQuest. \u201cThe impact they bring can be felt in every corner of the festival. The free, inclusive, alcohol-free space on the SouthSide offered guests a welcoming place to relax, enjoy food and mocktails purchased at the \u2018Fest and take part in new interactive, creative\u00a0and playful activities.<\/p>\n<p>Activities included a SoberPlatz Kickoff Hour on preview night, community art, music, games, photo opportunities, recovery-focused resources and\u00a0special events\u00a0like the book signing with Mike Shooty and the visits with certified therapy dog Axel and his handler, Jutta.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSoberPlatz is ultimately about belonging,\u201d said Laura Waits, founder of Sync Recovery. \u201cFor a second year, we watched people come through the space to dance, create art, connect with others, spend time with family and friends or simply take a break and recharge. The event\u2019s continued growth would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors and partners:<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Splice, PA Presenters, West Chester University\u2019s Wells School of Music, Martin Guitar, PMEA, Museum of Music Technology (MMT), F Flat Books, Yamaha, Association of Popular Music Education (APME), D\u2019Addario, Zildjian, Music Will and AKD Microphones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Competitions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The winner of the annual\u00a0<strong>Aw Shucks Corn Eating Competition<\/strong>\u00a0was defending champion Alex Unrue who scarfed down 5 ears of corn in 1 minute, 37 seconds, breaking his own record of 2 minutes, 15 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Pennsylvania State Steinholding Championship Qualifiers<\/strong>\u00a0were Rachel Ewaniuk (3 minutes, 40 seconds) for the women\u2019s competition and Freddie Garcia (3 minutes, 47 seconds) for the men\u2019s competition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Transportation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>LANTA Bus Service returned with EBS Gold, Blue and Green Lines, offering free (within the festival) ADA-accessible transportation throughout the festival footprint. 25,904 riders utilized the EBS Gold, Blue and Green lines throughout the festival this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLANTA thanks our partners ArtsQuest, the City of Bethlehem and the Bethlehem Parking Authority for another successful year of providing mobility for Musikfest,\u201d said Owen O\u2019Neil, Executive Director at LANTA. \u201cA record number of people, almost 26,000, used LANTA services to move to, from and through Musikfest in 2026. We continue to learn important lessons each year which help to shape improvements for future festivals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trans-Bridge Lines kept the Musikfest spirit rolling, shuttling 4,737 guests to and from satellite parking lots: on the North Side at 1525 Valley Center Parkway in Bethlehem and on the SouthSide at Penn State Lehigh Valley, right to the heart of the festivities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional Highlights\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Cashless Festival \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>The festival continued its fully cashless model that was introduced last year. This change was implemented across all ArtsQuest events last year. The reusable CashCard never expires and can be used year-round at any ArtsQuest venue or program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ArtsQuest Glass Studio<\/strong>\u00a0offered a design in celebration of the 250<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of the nation with a Stars &amp; Stripe paperweight. Also available was the \u201cBubble Bowl!\u201d More than 70 people participated in an ArtsQuest Hot Glass Experience which offers anyone age 6+ a chance to create their own piece of art with the guidance of\u00a0one of\u00a0ArtsQuest Glass Staff. No experience\u00a0necessary!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Familienplatz\u00a0<\/strong>offered family fun with the Crayola Creativity tent with a total of 5,250 crafts; ten different daily crafts; two community art projects sponsored by Martin Guitar with 250 Martin Guitar tops and sound hole paint by numbers; daily free Children\u2019s performances and a sensory-supportive space at the Inclusion Zone, in partnership with Accessible Festivals and presented by Good Shepard Rehabilitation Network.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comedy<\/strong>\u00a0kept \u2018festers laughing all week long at Comedyplatz at the Charles A. Brown\u00a0Ice House, with 12 comedy shows consisting of 78 comedians from six states, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware,\u00a0Illinois and Florida. With the Comedyplatz Standup Comedy Showcases, the festival\u2019s comedy lineup delivered nonstop entertainment and plenty of unforgettable moments.<\/p>\n<p>The Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza welcomed comedian John Mulaney for a main stage show on August 1. The former \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d comedian brought the laughs and gave festivalgoers another memorable night of entertainment under the SteelStacks.<\/p>\n<p>As the music fades on another unforgettable Musikfest, the countdown to next year has already begun.
