{"id":150220,"date":"2026-07-06T21:59:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T01:59:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevalleyledger.com\/?p=150220"},"modified":"2026-07-06T21:59:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T01:59:11","slug":"jamieson-claims-american-classic-title-after-thrilling-duel-with-stein-at-t-town","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevalleyledger.com\/?p=150220","title":{"rendered":"Jamieson Claims American Classic Title After Thrilling Duel with Stein at T-Town"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>New Zealand Rider Edges Local Favorite in Night of International Racing and America250 Celebration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>TREXLERTOWN, Pa.<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 The\u00a0<strong>American Classic<\/strong>\u00a0delivered an unforgettable night of international track cycling Friday at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center, highlighted by an intense showdown between\u00a0<strong>Magnus Jamieson (New Zealand &#8211; Bike Works p\/b Fred Beans)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Dakota Stein (USA -Edge Cycling)<\/strong>\u00a0that captivated fans throughout the evening.<\/p>\n<p>The pair traded victories across multiple events, setting the stage for one of the most exciting men&#8217;s competitions of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Stein struck first in spectacular fashion, winning the\u00a0<strong>Flying Mile<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0<strong>1:38<\/strong>\u00a0at an average speed of\u00a0<strong>58.7 km\/h<\/strong>, narrowly edging Jamieson in a photo-worthy finish. Troy Sanders rounded out the podium in third.<\/p>\n<p>Jamieson answered back in the night&#8217;s tactical events. He captured the\u00a0<strong>Miss &amp; Out<\/strong>, outlasting Ryan Jastrab and Andrew Dudle before putting together a dominant performance in the\u00a0<strong>Point-a-Lap Race<\/strong>. Jamieson won an incredible\u00a0<strong>12 consecutive sprint laps<\/strong>\u00a0to finish with\u00a0<strong>32 points<\/strong>, holding off Sanders (21 points) and Stein (20 points).<\/p>\n<p>Jamieson wasn&#8217;t finished.<\/p>\n<p>He added victories in both the\u00a0<strong>Open Longest Lap<\/strong>\u00a0and the evening-ending\u00a0<strong>30-lap Preme Race.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stein&#8217;s Flying Mile victory kept the rivalry alive, but Jamieson&#8217;s dominant evening tightened the Friday Night Under the Lights Rider of the Year race.
