New Zealand Rider Edges Local Favorite in Night of International Racing and America250 Celebration<\/strong><\/p>\n

TREXLERTOWN, Pa.<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 The\u00a0American Classic<\/strong>\u00a0delivered an unforgettable night of international track cycling Friday at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center, highlighted by an intense showdown between\u00a0Magnus Jamieson (New Zealand – Bike Works p\/b Fred Beans)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Dakota Stein (USA -Edge Cycling)<\/strong>\u00a0that captivated fans throughout the evening.<\/p>\n

The pair traded victories across multiple events, setting the stage for one of the most exciting men’s competitions of the season.<\/p>\n

Stein struck first in spectacular fashion, winning the\u00a0Flying Mile<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a01:38<\/strong>\u00a0at an average speed of\u00a058.7 km\/h<\/strong>, narrowly edging Jamieson in a photo-worthy finish. Troy Sanders rounded out the podium in third.<\/p>\n

Jamieson answered back in the night’s tactical events. He captured the\u00a0Miss & Out<\/strong>, outlasting Ryan Jastrab and Andrew Dudle before putting together a dominant performance in the\u00a0Point-a-Lap Race<\/strong>. Jamieson won an incredible\u00a012 consecutive sprint laps<\/strong>\u00a0to finish with\u00a032 points<\/strong>, holding off Sanders (21 points) and Stein (20 points).<\/p>\n

Jamieson wasn’t finished.<\/p>\n

He added victories in both the\u00a0Open Longest Lap<\/strong>\u00a0and the evening-ending\u00a030-lap Preme Race.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stein’s Flying Mile victory kept the rivalry alive, but Jamieson’s dominant evening tightened the Friday Night Under the Lights Rider of the Year race. Despite the pressure,\u00a0Dakota Stein continues to hold a slim lead over Magnus Jamieson<\/strong>\u00a0in the season-long standings 50 points to 47 points respectively.<\/p>\n

Jessica Chong Sweeps Women’s Racing<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the women’s competition,\u00a0Jessica Chong (Allentown, Pa.)<\/strong>\u00a0was nearly unbeatable.<\/p>\n

Chong opened the evening by winning the\u00a0Scratch Race<\/strong>\u00a0over Jillian Halm and Divya Verma before dominating the\u00a0Point-a-Lap Race<\/strong>, collecting points on 10 of the 15 laps to finish with 12 points.<\/p>\n

She completed the sweep by capturing the\u00a0Women’s Preme Race<\/strong>, once again defeating Halm and Verma to earn three victories on the night.<\/p>\n

Young Riders Shine<\/strong><\/p>\n

The evening began with the\u00a0Junior Men Scratch Race<\/strong>, where\u00a0Joshua Fredericks (Bike Works p\/b Fred Beans)<\/strong>\u00a0sprinted to victory ahead of Christiano Jacelon and Elijah James.<\/p>\n

James returned later in the evening to win the\u00a0Junior Men Longest Lap<\/strong>, adding another impressive result to his growing r\u00e9sum\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Another Exciting Night at T-Town<\/strong><\/p>\n

The American Classic was part of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center’s\u00a0America250 Celebration<\/strong>, featuring live music from the Philadelphia Funk Authority, family activities, and fireworks following the racing.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Friday Night Under the Lights<\/strong>\u00a0series continues next week as riders return to the Valley Preferred Cycling Center for another evening of world-class racing, family entertainment, and summer excitement.<\/p>\n
