ALLENTOWN, PA – Cedar Crest College is pleased to announce the election of President Elizabeth Meade as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania (AICUP), the statewide organization that advocates for affordable, accessible, and independent nonprofit higher education.<\/p>\n
President Meade and eight other higher education leaders began their new terms on July 1. Together, the Board will advocate for policies and initiatives that support the long-term sustainability of Pennsylvania’s independent colleges.<\/p>\n

About President Elizabeth Meade<\/strong><\/p>\n Dr. Meade is the fourteenth President of Cedar Crest College, leading since 2017 and serving on the faculty since 1993. She led the development and implementation of Cedar Crest’s recent strategic plan, Open the Door to What’s Next, featuring signature initiatives such as a Laptops for Learners program, a Degree in Three accelerated path to a bachelor’s degree, and a School of Nursing public healthcare clinic.<\/p>\n Dr. Meade is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and earned her Ph.D. from Boston College.<\/p>\n About Cedar Crest College<\/strong><\/p>\n Cedar Crest College has been empowering women to smash glass ceilings and achieve their educational goals since 1867.
