More than 100 athletes and coaches to represent Pennsylvania on the national stage<\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

(JUNE 19, 2026) \u2013 <\/strong>Special Olympics Pennsylvania<\/a>\u00a0(SOPA)\u2019s Northampton County Wildcats flag football team is leaving today\u00a0to represent\u00a0Team Pennsylvania<\/a>\u00a0at the\u00a02026 Special Olympics USA Games<\/a>\u00a0from June 20-26 in Minnesota.<\/p>\n

The Wildcats will be competing on June 22-25 at the National Sports Center in Blaine. You can follow along with the Hawks and all of Team PA\u2019s USA Games experience by tuning into our\u00a0Facebook<\/a>,\u00a0Instagram<\/a>,\u00a0YouTube<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0TikTok<\/a>. About Special Olympics USA Games and Team Pennsylvania<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Team Pennsylvania will proudly be represented by 91 athletes and Unified Partners and 25 coaches in 11 different sports, including athletics, basketball, bocce, bowling, flag football, golf, powerlifting, soccer, softball, swimming, and volleyball. All Team Pennsylvania athletes and Unified Partners were randomly selected based on whether they won a gold medal in their division in the past three years at one of Special Olympics Pennsylvania\u2019s statewide competitions.<\/p>\n

The Special Olympics USA Games are hosted every four years. The 2026 Special Olympics USA Games will be a celebration of ability and inclusion against the backdrop of the Twin Cities. The Games will unite 3,000 athletes and 1,500 coaches from all 50 states competing in 16 Special Olympics sports at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and the National Sports Center in Blaine. A dedicated team of 10,000 volunteers and 75,000 enthusiastic fans will support the event and cheer on the inspiring athletes.
