the Arts)<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Last week, the Communications &amp; Media Studies class, part of the Literary Arts sophomore curriculum at Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) held a press conference to announce band selections for a concert block at Musikfest.<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-image-carousel  su-image-carousel-columns-3 su-image-carousel-has-spacing part of a class project with the ArtsQuest Marketing Musikfest program, students selected artists from hundreds of submissions for a concert block taking place on August 2nd from 12-4 PM at the Plaza Tropical stage.<\/p>\n<p>The students were tasked with booking the artists, handling public relations, marketing, promotions, production, budgeting, sponsorship, and design. The press conference itself was also student-run and included student and faculty speakers as well as ArtsQuest&#8217;s Chief Programming Officer, Patrick Brogan.<\/p>\n<p>The bands that the students selected represent a range of music genres, including:<\/p>\n<p>Altruistic Vision \u2014 A Delaware County, PA band blending modern jazz and hypnotic funk with improvisational energy.<\/p>\n<p>Pam Brennan Quartet \u2014 An Easton, PA jazz quartet performing Great American Songbook classics with warm, swing-era vocals.<\/p>\n<p>Indigo Lane \u2014 A Tampa indie rock band delivering melodic, heartfelt, hook-driven songs with DIY spirit.<\/p>\n<p>Fez \u2014 A Central Pennsylvania \u201cScuba-Rock\u201d band mixing ska rhythms, indie rock, and gritty vocals into a genre-bending sound.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE CHARTER ARTS LITERARY ARTS DEPARTMENT:<\/strong><br \/>\nHigh school students with a passion for the written word are finding a creative home at Charter Arts through the school&#8217;s comprehensive and dynamic Literary Arts program.<\/p>\n<p>This program immerses students in the relationship between literature, reading, writing, and performance.
