This project will provide attainable housing for 25 families in need, a step forward in our goal of providing affordable housing options in the Lehigh Valley. In true Habitat for Humanity fashion, each future homeowner will contribute 250 hours of sweat equity in helping to build their home \u2014 a testament to the dedication and investment these families bring to their community.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are incredibly proud of what this project represents and are eager to begin preparing the site for development,\u201d said Northampton County Executive Tara Zrinski.<\/p>\n
The land was purchased in November 2022 by Habitat Lehigh Valley with support from Northampton County, which allocated $2 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds to the project.<\/p>\n
\u201cHabitat Lehigh Valley is so grateful to have such a wonderful partnership with Northampton County,\u201d said Jessica Elliott of Habitat for Humanity Lehigh Valley. \u201cWe cannot wait to get started on making sure 25 hardworking families have a safe place to call home.\u201d<\/p>\n
