EASTON, Pa., Jan. 30\u2014Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor (DLNHC) will again offer funding in 2026 to support projects that create and strengthen a trail\u2011friendly atmosphere within the five\u2011county Corridor and along the D&L Trail. This year, $27,000 is available for events and amenities designed to enhance trail users\u2019 experiences and encourage outdoor recreation.<\/p>\n
Reimbursement amounts include up to $2,000 for events and up to $5,000 for amenities. Matching fund requirements vary and can be found on the program\u2019s website at\u00a0delawareandlehigh.org\/partner-resources\/grant-opportunities\/<\/a><\/u>.<\/p>\n Since launching the initiative in 2018, DLNHC and its partners have awarded more than $155,000 in funding for 34 projects, generating more than $304,000 in economic impact across Corridor\u00a0communities. Supported projects\u00a0include\u00a0benches, bike racks, landscaping, ADA bridge enhancements, trail resurfacing, 5K races and walks, canal lock repairs, spin\u2011a\u2011thons, trailhead improvements, trash receptacles, bike rides, murals,\u00a0signage\u00a0and festivals.<\/p>\n DLNHC encourages both new applicants and past recipients to apply. Eligible applicants include D&L Trail landowners, partner nonprofits, and D&L Trail Friendly Businesses. Projects are approved on a rolling basis until all funds are awarded.
