Residents say voters deserve basic clarity on how candidates are chosen, who is making the decision, and what standards are being used\u2014especially in a special election, where timelines are compressed and public confidence is essential.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is about strengthening trust in the process,\u201d a resident spokesperson said. \u201cRegardless of party, the community should be able to understand how a nominee is selected and how residents can be heard.\u201d<\/p>\n
