{"id":121255,"date":"2023-08-07T16:48:11","date_gmt":"2023-08-07T20:48:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=121255"},"modified":"2023-08-07T16:48:33","modified_gmt":"2023-08-07T20:48:33","slug":"musikfest-2023-dan-shay-concert-review-by-joe-scrizzi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevalleyledger.com\/?p=121255","title":{"rendered":"Musikfest 2023 Dan &#038; Shay Concert Review &#8211; By: Joe Scrizzi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By: Joe Scrizzi<\/p>\n<p>Musikfest 2023 has begun once again and lovers of this Fest have been roaming the streets and grounds since Wednesday evening, checking things out and catching some early acts!<\/p>\n<p>My first concert this Summer was Dan &amp; Shay who performed on the Steel Stage on the Southside of Musikfest.<\/p>\n<p>First opener was Kendal Conrad who hails from Pottstown and has found home right here in the Lehigh Valley!<\/p>\n<p>She started with &#8220;Come to Your Senses.&#8221;<br \/>\nSang a couple of covers by Shania Twain, Taylor Swift. Ended with &#8220;Leader of the Pack&#8221; which received 26 million views!<br \/>\nCheck out what she is up to on Facebook, Instagram &amp; other social media sites.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan Hutcherson came out a few minutes after Kendal, he checks in from Lexington Kentucky.<br \/>\nHis opening songs were &#8220;Dust, Love Takes Time.&#8221; Another new song: &#8220;Falling Feels Like&#8221; (unreleased).<br \/>\n&#8220;Go South&#8221; was a cool tune that will be released Sept. 8th. He ended his set with &#8220;Blue Collar.&#8221; It would be great to see him in concert again.<br \/>\nIt was nice to hear that Jonathan&#8217;s parents traveled up to see their son in concert right here in Bethlehem at Musikfest!<\/p>\n<p>Dan &amp; Shay hit the stage at 8:30pm<br \/>\nOpened with &#8220;10,000 Hours&#8221;, the entire crowd were on their feet singing and swaying along.<br \/>\n&#8220;Shadows&#8221; got the fans screaminggggg!<br \/>\nFound myself singing along as well, ha.<\/p>\n<p>Things slowed down a bit with &#8220;What Keeps You Up At Night.&#8221;<br \/>\nFirst #1: &#8220;Nothing Like You&#8221; followed.<br \/>\nNew Record will be Released Sept. 15th.<br \/>\nAfter a few minutes of crowd interaction and videos, they continued with &#8220;From The Ground Up&#8221;<br \/>\nHit after Hit: &#8220;You&#8221;, &#8220;Lying&#8221; and a few others.<br \/>\nTheir New Album: Bigger House will be out on Sept. 15th. New Singles: &#8220;Save Me the Trouble&#8221;, &#8220;Always Gonna Be&#8221; were played and cameras were clicking away. Once again Country Music draws an all ages crowd and it was great to see folks dancing around.<\/p>\n<p>After a quick break, they picked up and sang &#8220;Glad You Exist&#8221;, (acoustic).<br \/>\nFollowed up by yet another new song: &#8220;Bigger Houses.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dan tickled the ivories a bit with &#8220;I Probably Should Go to Bed.&#8221;<br \/>\nWinding down the event with &#8220;Speechless&#8221;, song written by Shay for his wife Hannah.<br \/>\nIt was great to see the video board behind the stage showing Shay and Hannah&#8217;s Wedding Day!<br \/>\nFans waved in unison with cell lights held up high!<br \/>\nAs requested by all the fans, they closed with &#8220;Tequila!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Their stage presence was spot on and I hope to see Dan &amp; Shay back in the Lehigh Valley!<br \/>\nThis was a truly Amazing Concert!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dan &amp; Shay is an American country pop music duo composed of vocalists and songwriters Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney. They are signed to Warner Records in Nashville and have released 4 albums: Where It All Began, Obsessed, Dan + Shay, and Good Things.
