People from all walks of life in and out of the Lehigh Valley came to celebrate as the festival was beautiful.\u00a0 They held sacred ceremonies,\u00a0 incredible vendors selling everything from drums and handmade jewelry.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t just a celebration, but a reminder to be grateful and appreciate Mother Nature,\u00a0 the planet,\u00a0 and what we often take for granted. People walking around barefoot and embracing all of the beauty that was offered at the festival.\u00a0 They had face painting,\u00a0 ceremonial dancing,\u00a0 art,\u00a0 pony rides,\u00a0 axe throwing, and food.<\/p>\n<p>The food included the frybread,\u00a0 the fire roasted corn which was indeed fully celebrated.\u00a0 Indian tacos,\u00a0 hamburgers,\u00a0 hot dogs,\u00a0 and corn soup..\u00a0 All made with love. It was a beautiful moment in time for people to take time and talk,\u00a0 eat some great food,\u00a0 and celebrate life.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Museum.Indian.Culture\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Museum.Indian.Culture<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Details about the event from The Facebook Event Page<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Celebrating 42 years, the Museum of Indian Culture&#8217;s annual Roasting Ears of Corn Festival will be held August 20 and 21, 2022 on the grounds of the Museum in the Little Lehigh Parkway. Gates are open to the Public 10 am &#8211; 6 pm. Grand Entrance is at 12 noon.<\/p>\n<p>Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and join us for a weekend of live Native American drumming, singing and dancing. \u00a0This year\u2019s entertainment includes host drum \u201cYoungblood Singers\u201d from Shinnecock Indian Nation, NY, and guest drum \u201cBlack Bull Moose Singers\u201d from the Anishnawbek Nation, Canada, Aztec Dancing by the Salinas Family from Mexico City, Katrina Fisher\u2014Cree hoop dancer, and Iroquois Social Dancing performed by the Onyota\u2019a:ka Dancers and Singers from upstate New York. \u00a0This year\u2019s Master of Ceremonies will feature David White Buffalo, Rosebud Sioux Tribe. \u00a0 Featured dancers will include head man Brandon Petahtegoose (Anishnawbek) and head woman Rozlyn Tonepahhote (Kiowa).<\/p>\n<p>Premiering at the festival this year is Native American performing artist Bill Miller. \u00a0 Bill Miller is an award-winning Native American recording artist, performer, songwriter, activist, painter, and world-class native flute player. Over the entirety, Miller has produced over a dozen albums, received three GRAMMY\u00ae Awards, numerous Native American Music Awards &amp; Association (NAMA) awards (including a \u201cLifetime Achievement\u201d Award) and led Wisconsin\u2019s La Crosse Symphony Orchestra. He is now touring in support of the history-making album release, Look Again To The Wind: Johnny Cash\u2019s Bitter Tears Revisited, on which he performed the title track.<\/p>\n<p>\u200bVendors will offer a wide array of products like Sweetgrass, T-shirts, Handcrafted Zuni and Navajo silver jewelry, Wampum jewelry, Beadwork, Kachina Dolls, Pottery, Leathergoods and so much more! We will also offer cultural lifeways demonstrations like Lenape Cooking, Flute making, and Basketry. You can also try your hand at tomahawk throwing!<\/p>\n<p>We didn&#8217;t forget the kids, in fact our Children&#8217;s Area includes activities to create Native American inspired crafts like &#8220;wampum&#8221; bracelets, Sand Art, Totem Poles. And just around the corner&#8230;..Pony Rides!<\/p>\n<p>\u200bNo Native American festival would be complete without food&#8230;.specifically frybread and Indian Tacos&#8230;yum! Additional foods for sale \u00a0include Buffalo Burgers, Hamburger, Hotdogs, Corn Soup, and of course&#8230;&#8230;fire roasted corn!<\/p>\n<p>\u200bThis year, the American Indian Collectors Association of the Northeast (IACANE) will host their Native American Artifact Show at our Roasting Ears of Corn Festival. This show will feature thousands of artifacts from across North America.
