The season-ending 5K celebration will be held on Saturday, December 4th on the campus of DeSales University in Center Valley. Over 500 girls in 3rd-8th grade from across the Lehigh Valley and their \u201cRunning Buddies\u201d will run, skip, jump, or walk their way through the DeSales campus to cross the finish line and celebrate their individual accomplishments. The GOTR 5K is the culmination of the GOTR curriculum, which enables the girls to achieve their fullest potential through confidence and joy in running!<\/p>\n<p>The 2021 event is the first large, in-person 5K event that GOTRLV has been able to host since the fall of 2019 due to the pandemic. It is the fourth 5K that DeSales will host for the GOTR organization. Both GOTRLV Staff and DeSales\u2019 very own business majors have carefully planned the event with 17 students collaborating as teams for the senior class business capstone projects. There are an additional 50 student volunteers participating through the Office of Community Service and Advocacy.<\/p>\n<p>The teams have been planning and managing different aspects of the event since early October and contributing countless hours to make the event a success. The group of students selected the theme \u201cshining star\u201d to represent every girl&#8217;s confidence and star power!
