The County flag will be lowered to half-staff in his memory.<\/span><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span data-removefontsize=\"true\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"20\">\u201cTony was a good friend and a fine gentleman who dedicated his life to public service,\u201d says Lamont McClure. \u201cThe County of Northampton celebrates Tony\u2019s service to his community this day, November 29<\/span><sup data-originalfontsize=\"70%\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"14\">th<\/sup><span data-removefontsize=\"true\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"20\">, which was also the date of his birth.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><span data-removefontsize=\"true\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"20\">Tony Bassil was the Controller of Northampton County and previously served as the Financial Controller for the City of Easton. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Pomfret Club and the owner of The Carmelcorn Shop. <\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><span data-removefontsize=\"true\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"20\">Controller is an elected position.
