On behalf of the Veterans & Military Council of The Chamber, we encourage our members throughout all the communities we serve to remember the importance of Memorial Day.<\/p>\n
Memorial Day is an important day for all of us as it serves as a reminder to honor and remember those men and women who have valiantly fought for and served this incredible country and made the ultimate sacrifice by giving their lives.<\/p>\n
Here are some ways you, along with family, friends, and colleagues, can keep the memory of our fallen servicemembers alive in our memories and hearts.<\/p>\n
Fly the American Flag.<\/strong><\/p>\n Proudly display the American flag at home or at your business.<\/em><\/p>\n Participate in the National Moment of Remembrance.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n In an effort to recognize Memorial Day as the noble holiday it is meant to be, the\u00a0<\/em>National Moment of Remembrance<\/em><\/a>, established by Congress, asks Americans wherever they are at 3 p.m., local time, on Memorial Day to pause in an act of national unity (duration: one minute).<\/em><\/p>\n Visit a veterans\u2019 memorial or cemetery.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Or, you can\u00a0<\/em>take a virtual tour<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/em><\/a>of the Vietnam Wall, World War II Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, and more.<\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Thank A Veteran.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n While Memorial Day is a time for remembering and honoring our fallen servicemembers, it\u2019s also a time to thank all members of our military both past and present! Thank them for all they have done to protect our country and our freedoms.<\/em><\/p>\n Watch the Memorial Day special from Washington, D.C.<\/strong><\/p>\n The National Memorial Day Parade returns in 2021!\u00a0<\/em>In a very special made-for-television event<\/em><\/a>, the parade returns to Washington, DC \u2013 along with New York City, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and cities and towns across the country \u2013 in a salute to the men and women who have sacrificed for our nation.<\/em><\/p>\n Create a care package for a servicemember.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n You can make a difference and thank a servicemember who\u2019s currently serving with a care package.
