The Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce, proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber, is pleased to present the first ever Catasauqua StrEAT Fest on Saturday, April 10th<\/sup> from 11-3 PM. Partnering with the Borough of Catasauqua, this event is designed to support local businesses and restaurants, while providing a festive atmosphere with live music from Third Hand Acoustic and Common Bond, plus dozens of craft and business vendors, and, of course, food trucks. The StrEAT festival will have an emphasis on EAT, bringing lots of great cuisines to Front Street while highlighting local shops, too.<\/p>\n \u201cThis event has been the epitome of the \u2018COVID\u2019 event planning experience; I cannot express enough how grateful we are to the vendors, our businesses and Catasauqua Borough for sticking with us as we\u2019ve adapted and adjusted, scheduled and rescheduled, and continually adjusted to changing protocols,\u201d said Kylie Adams, Assistant Vice President of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. \u201cThe Whitehall Area Chamber has been very pleased to be working with the Borough of Catasauqua on this event and to support our local businesses in Catty!\u201d<\/p>\n Originally scheduled for June of 2020 and rescheduled for Small Business Saturday in November 2021, the event has been in the works for over a year. \u201cWe have been working hand-in-hand with Catasauqua along the way,\u201d said Jessica O\u2019Donnell, EVP of Affiliated Chambers. \u201cWhile we\u2019ve been forced to change plans, our vision has stayed the same \u2013 a festival that will celebrate the beautiful borough of Catasauqua, bring new visitors to our small businesses and get us out to safely enjoy the day.<\/p>\n The festival will also feature live music from Third Hand Acoustic and Common Bond, local favorites who are excited to play a home-town crowd and often play local venues, such as the Gas House on Front Street. The Gas House will also have music and be open to the public, as well.<\/p>\n The event will feature local businesses open with special deals. For example, Melvin\u2019s Farm Stand will have farm fresh produce, meats and cheeses, crepes, and fruit and granola bowls, as well as children\u2019s activities. Families can participate in a \u201cLocal Business\u201d Scavenger Hunt as a part of the Suburban North YMCA\u2019s \u201cHealthy Kids Day\u201d.<\/p>\n Blondie\u2019s will be open serving up delicious cupcakes and Slovakian food, and Taylor House Brewing and Triple Sun Spirits will be bringing the adult beverages, while other craft vendors and food trucks will also be participating. \u201cBetween the handmade craft items and different small business vendors, there\u2019s something to find for everyone,\u201d \u00a0said O\u2019Donnell.<\/p>\n The event will also feature 17 food trucks and approximately 40 craft and business vendors. Samantha Scavuzzo, of Remington & Vernick Engineers, Inc. and a sponsor of the event, said she was \u201chonored to help small and local businesses in the Borough of Catasauqua.\u201d The Whitehall Area Chamber will be paying homage to one of their earlier scheduled dates and plans to hand out \u201cShop Small\u201d swag at their booth, a reminder that its important to do so even outside of the holiday season.<\/p>\n \u201cMost importantly, we are looking to gather safely and enjoy the delicious cuisines our businesses and vendors will be serving up,\u201d said Adams.
