{"id":105400,"date":"2021-02-23T10:56:42","date_gmt":"2021-02-23T15:56:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=105400"},"modified":"2021-02-23T10:56:42","modified_gmt":"2021-02-23T15:56:42","slug":"the-fund-for-racial-justice-and-equity-invites-bipoc-leaders-in-the-lehigh-valley-to-apply-for-year-long-leadership-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevalleyledger.com\/?p=105400","title":{"rendered":"The Fund for Racial Justice and Equity Invites BIPOC Leaders in the Lehigh Valley to Apply for Year-Long Leadership Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>BIPOC individuals already generating impact in the Lehigh Valley are invited to apply to participate in a year-long series of sessions to enhance their skillsets though the Fund for Racial Justice and Equity powered by United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Allentown, Pa., February 22, 2021<\/strong>\u2014The Fund for Racial Justice and Equity (FRJE), powered by United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV) and led by five fund leaders, announced that it has opened applications for a year-long executive leadership development series for BIPOC leaders in the Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A cohort of 10 BIPOC applicants already generating impact in the Lehigh Valley will be selected to develop their networks, enhance their skillsets and grow their influence to achieve a higher personal and professional profile and advance to a next level of leadership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe development of current BIPOC leaders in our community to be ready for executive roles, is pivotal for the equitable transformation\u00a0of the entire Lehigh Valley,\u201d said Fund leader Kevin Greene, Chief Operations Officer of Faces International.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The series includes a mix of virtual\/in-person gatherings to engage in shared learning, off-line reflective mentoring sessions, at least one out-of-area immersive experience and other possible engagements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The invitation for applications is available at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedwayglv.org\/take-action\/racial-justice-and-equity-(1)www.unitedwayglv.org\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.unitedwayglv.org\/take-action\/racial-justice-and-equity-(1)www.unitedwayglv.org&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1614176662564000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGEsgwbD9Oks-VEhErcx1RXX_hURA\">www.unitedwayglv.org<\/a>. Individuals who identify as BIPOC, work for or own a nonprofit organization or business and have worked in their professional field for a minimum of 3 years are encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is April 1, 2021.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhile the FRJE works within a larger equity agenda, it has specific work that it will create and invest in to enhance Black and Brown leadership in the Lehigh Valley community.
