Northampton County Executive Lamont McClure and the Division of Parks & Recreation will accept applications for the 2021 Livable Landscapes Grant Program beginning February 22nd<\/sup>\u00a0until 1:00 PM, April 1, 2021.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Livable Landscapes Grant Program provides grant opportunities for land conservation, ecological restoration, education, and municipal park rehabilitation and development in Northampton County.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Division of Parks and Recreation will host a virtual grant workshop on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 9:00 \u2013 11:30 am on Zoom.\u00a0All interested applicants should participate in the grant workshop to learn about the grant guidelines and briefly discuss their project intent.<\/div>\n

The purpose of the Livable Landscapes program is to protect the County\u2019s important natural features by assisting municipalities and organizations to acquire, restore, and enhance permanently protected lands, to conserve natural resources and provide outdoor recreation for future generations.\u00a0Since 2006, Northampton County awarded more than $15 million in Livable Landscapes grant program funding for local and regional park improvements, recreation, land conservation, and trail projects.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cThis funding is essential to enhance the quality of life, outdoor recreation, open space, and health in our communities across the County,\u201d remarks Sherry Acevedo, Conservation Coordinator in the Division of Parks and Recreation.\u00a0\u201cThe value of our parks and open space are vital to our families as we enjoy close to home recreation and connect with nature.\u201d<\/div>\n

Livable Landscapes Grant submissions must be filed electronically by 1:00 PM, April 1st<\/sup>\u00a0in PDF format.\u00a0Applications and the required supporting documentation are to be emailed to Sherry Acevedo at\u00a0sacevedo@northamptoncounty.org<\/a>\u00a0For larger file sizes, please contact Sherry for more information.<\/div>\n
