Wildlands Conservancy – Winter Solstice Snowshoe Stroll
December 21 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Take a break from the stress of the holidays and join us for a unique celebration of the winter solstice in our immersive environmental education program, “Winter Solstice Snowshoe Stroll” This event invites participants ages 6+ to explore the beauty of winter while learning about local ecosystems and wildlife.
Program Highlights:
Snowshoe Hike: Embrace the season with a guided snowshoe hike through our scenic winter trails. Participants will discover the hidden wonders of the landscape, learn about winter wildlife adaptations, and observe the serene beauty of nature blanketed in snow.
Warm-Up with Tree Tea: After the hike, we’ll gather indoors to warm up and enjoy a soothing cup of tree tea made from locally sourced ingredients. As we sip our tea, participants will engage in discussions about the importance of trees in our environment and their role in supporting local wildlife.
Bird Feeder Craft: To foster a love for wildlife, each participant will create a simple bird feeder using an orange and natural materials. This hands-on activity not only supports local bird populations during the winter months but also provides a delightful way to observe and connect with nature in your own backyard.
Should there be no snow, a regular hike will take place.
