Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center Hosting Traveling Exhibit of LGBT History

“The Long Road” Chronicles Activism for LGBT Non-Discrimination Protections in Pennsylvania

ALLENTOWN, PA — As part of Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center’s recognition of the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, the center is hosting a traveling exhibit in its Fine Art Galleries that documents the history of activism for LGBT non discrimination protections in Pennsylvania. The Long Road to LGBTQ+ Equality In Pennsylvania was produced by the LGBT Center of Central PA and curated by Barry Loveland. The exhibit has been displayed at the Pennsylvania State Capital and in numerous venues throughout the state.

The exhibit is on display at Allentown’s Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center from May 13-July 1, with a reception and curator talk on May 16 from 6-8pm. The exhibition in Allentown is sponsored by Justin F. Robinette, Esq – The Discrimination Lawyer.

“The continuous fight for civil rights for LGBT Pennsylvanians is front and center as we mark 50 years since Stonewall. This exhibit recognizes the tremendous activists throughout Pennsylvania who have tirelessly worked for basic rights. This exhibit is an opportunity to look back on our history, applaud the activists who came before us, and continue this fight into the future.” said Adrian Shanker, Executive Director of Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center.
