New DeSales University Graduate Takes Next Step in Career
Bethlehem, PA, December 10, 2018 – Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley (MOWGLV) has hired Margarita Serrano as their new Lehigh County Intake Coordinator
Serrano grew up in Columbia and Wilkes-Barre, moving to the states when she was 12. She has been in the Lehigh Valley since 2014.
Serrano has extensive social work experience through agencies such as Orphanage Outreach in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic; Red Cross in Columbia and Commission on Economic Opportunity in Wilkes-Barre. She has been trained on Restorative Practices. She is excited to bring her caring and skills to a non-profit organization in the Valley that is truly making a difference.
“I love the Lehigh Valley,” said Margarita Serrano. “We are close to New Jersey, New York and still minutes from the country. I am excited to find a social service position where I can help people and stay in such a great area”.
This position is the result of the recent merger of Meals on Wheels of Lehigh and Northampton Counties that occurred at the end of August 2018.
“Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley is dedicated to finding talented professionals who not only have the training but also a caring spirit,” said Vicki Coyle, CEO of Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley. “I look forward to building a strong team that connects with our most valuable asset: the nearly 1,800 homebound senior citizens and adults with disabilities who receive meals from us each day”.
