BACKGROUND: Three years ago, a handful of avid cyclists and craft beverage enthusiasts came together to form Team Booze Clues. Each member was involved in the alcohol industry in one way or another. A couple were business owners, others were homebrewers, and others were friends who had a passion for craft beverages and cycling.
Besides their industry affiliations, they were united by the fact that they had friends and/or family members who suffered from multiple sclerosis. Coincidentally, each had been involved with the Bike MS events for several years. So, it was exciting to bring their professional and personal passions together for a good cause.
Since then Team Booze Clues has raised nearly $15,000 for the National MS Society. The team has ridden the Bike MS: City to Shore in 2016 and the Bike MS: Bike to the Bay (Delaware) in 2017. They will be riding the Delaware event again this year. The rides are 150 miles over two days regardless of the weather.
The team is sponsored by several of the regional Lehigh Valley craft beverage producers, along with its lead sponsors The Colony Meadery and LOGIC, Inc. Other sponsors include: Banter’s Hard Cider, Brimming Horn Meadery, Bonn Place Brewing Company, Charm City Meadworks, County Seat Spirits, Free Will Brewing Company, Gallows Hill Spirits Company, Haymaker Meadery, Lehigh Valley Homebrewers, Sandt’s Honey Company, Triple Sun Spirits Company, Two Rivers Brewing Company, Weyerbacher Brewing, and Yergey Brewing.
