The band was formed in 2004, and in 2007 began posting its videos on YouTube to great success. German duo Milky Chance brings an eclectic mix of folk, reggae and pop for an electrifying night of fun Sept. 28, 7:30 p.m. Formed in 2012, Milky Chance showcase the talents of singer-songwriter Clemens Rehbein and DJ Philipp Dausch. The duo first met in an advanced music course while in high school, where Rehbein also played bass in the jazz ensemble. In 2013, after playing two promising live shows, Milky Chance began work on its debut album. When they were finished, they uploaded several of the tracks, including the catchy “Stolen Dance” to YouTube. To their surprise, the song became a viral hit, racking up millions of views and leading to several sold-out tour dates for the band.

Milky Chance’s full-length debut, Sadnecessary, appeared on Lichtdicht Records in 2013. With the album charting on the German charts and Billboard Top 200, the duo reissued “Stolen Dance” with the single hitting the charts across Europe and the U.S. By 2015 they had toured the U.S. and been nominated for various awards. In 2016 the duo returned to the studio to record their sophomore album, Blossom, which was released in early 2017. Tickets for the show, supported by media partner SPIN 107.1, are $30.

On Sept. 5, 7 p.m., ArtsQuest proudly presents the Brothers Osborne. Years before they climbed the country charts with songs like “Stay a Little Longer” and “Rum,” Nashville-based duo Brothers Osborne grew up listening to their father’s country and rock records. Encouraged to write and play their own music, the brothers began to practice in a shed behind their house. By their teens they had formed the cover band Deuce & a Quarter, playing songs by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Merle Haggard, Bob Seger and others in local bars.

John eventually moved to Nashville, followed two years later by T.J., and Brothers Osborne were born. The duo’s debut single, “Let’s Go There,” appeared in 2013, followed by the single “Rum” in 2014. A year later, they released a re-recorded version of their EP track “Stay a Little Longer,” which eventually peaked at number four on Billboard’s country chart and eventually went platinum.

In 2016, Brothers Osborne released their debut full-length album, Pawn Shop. The album included both “Stay a Little Longer” and “Rum,” as well as subsequent charting singles “21 Summer” and “It Ain’t My Fault.” Industry recognition followed quickly for their unique brand of country-rock, and the brothers took home Vocal Duo of the Year at both the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music awards. Tickets for the Brothers Osborne show, supported by media partner Cat Country 96, are $30.
