FEBRUARY 6, 2018, ALLENTOWN, PA – Common Defense, a grassroots organization of progressive veterans and military families representing more than 100,000 members nationwide, has endorsed Allentown community leader Dr. Greg Edwards, Democrat running for Pennsylvania’s 15th Congressional district.
Common Defense is a diverse, grassroots organization of U.S. veterans and military family members who are fighting to preserve the core values they swore to uphold and defend. They vow to protect our communities from hate and violence, to serve on the front lines for justice, and to champion a truly equitable and representative democracy.
“Common Defense Veterans and military families are proud to endorse Greg Edwards for Pennsylvania’s 15th District. Greg is a powerful progressive civil rights advocate and community leader whose campaign has built up incredible support among working families,” said Executive Director, Air Force Veteran Pam Campos-Palma.
“In our effort to create a more just and perfect union, we cannot afford to ignore or leave the voices of our veterans and military families out of our collective struggle for social, economic, and global justice,” said Edwards, “With our hard earned freedoms at risk due to this administration’s agenda, I’m honored to have the support and confidence of Common Defense to be an advocate for, and to stand with, those who have given so much and asked for so little.”
In addition to Common Defense, the campaign has received national endorsements from the Justice Democrats, The Collective PAC, and locally from Bethlehem City Council Vice President Olga Negrón, Representative Dwight E. Evans (PA-2) and Make the Road Action in Pennsylvania. The campaign will be announcing an additional number of high profile endorsements this coming month.
