Last night Aloe Blacc performed as the main act at Musikfest on the Sands Steel Stage. The evening was kicked off with music from talented musicians across the jazz, soul, R&B, pop and country-pop genres. The Philly-based band Killiam Shakespearre were the first to perform with their blend of jazz, soul and R&B music. MAX was second to perform, bringing high energy, slick dance moves, and his pop-soul singing. Now the crowd was finally engaged! Noah Cyrus was the last opener. She charmed her fans with her sweet yet powerful voice. And she performed some of her newly released songs like “Stay Together” and “I’m Stuck.”
Around 9:15 the Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Aloe Blacc took the stage. Throughout the show he charmed the audience with his amazing voice and his positivity, gratitude, and confidence. For those of you aren’t that familiar with Aloe Blacc, you may have heard his chart-topping hit “Wake Me Up” that he sang and co-wrote with Swedish DJ Avicii. This song reached the No. 1 spot in more than 100 countries! Aloe Blacc’s other well-known hits are “I Need a Dollar” and “The Man.” Aloe Blacc took time throughout the night to connect with his fans. He spoke about how he is grateful to be able to write songs that will make people feel good. And he said that his songs are based on personal stories that are inspired by friends, family, and his own experiences. It was obvious that he truly enjoys writing music, performing, and creating a positive experience for his fans through his music.
