FOGELSVILLE, PA – March 5, 2015 – The owner of Glasbern Inn announced today that J. David Bates has joined its culinary staff as its new Executive Chef.
Since coming on board last month, Chef Bates has already revamped the menu for The Pub, which is only open for overnight guests of the inn. The menu can be viewed online here:

He will also be launching a new dinner menu for The Dining Room in the very near future. Chef Bates will continue to cultivate the restaurant’s farm-to-table menu by developing relationships with area butchers and farmers in order to serve the freshest local meats and produce to restaurant patrons.
A professional chef with over 20 years of experience in banquet and meeting management for upscale hotels, restaurants and country clubs, Chef Bates has extensive experience in the Lehigh Valley dining scene. Past positions include Executive Sous Chef at Bravo Cucina in Whitehall, Executive Chef at Shula’s Steak House at the Promenade Shops in Saucon Valley, and Executive a la Carte Chef at Saucon Valley Country Club.
“I’m excited to have a chef of David’s caliber join the culinary team at Glasbern,” said Owner Al Granger. “We look forward to his leadership and culinary inspiration in taking our Dining Room, Pub and in-room food service to the next level.”
