BBBSLV RECEIVES BOARD OF THE YEAR AND PINNACLE AWARDS AT BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Local affiliate is one of seven out of 300 affiliates nationwide to achieve Gold Standard Agency status.
ALLENTOWN, PA – June 30, 2017 – Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley received two national awards during the Big Brothers Big Sisters National Conference in San Diego this week. It was presented with the Board of the Year Award for a small-to-mid-size agency, and also the Pinnacle Award, one of only seven agencies out of 300 to receive it.
The Pinnacle Award is presented to Gold Standard Agencies who have increased their revenue by at least 5 percent and grown their overall number of matches, year over year, for two or more consecutive years. In 2016, BBBSLV served 431 children and grown its local services by 3 percent. BBBSLV is in its 46th year of serving Lehigh Valley youth through mentorship matches. The nonprofit organization received the Quality Award in 2014 and the Gold Standard in 2015, leading up to this year’s Pinnacle Award.
“Awards like this are never a singular accomplishment. This is not just a Big Brothers Big Sisters achievement. It signals growth for our entire community,” said Susan Bartels, president and CEO of BBBSLV. “We strive every day to support children through mentorship. It is truly a testament to the hard work done by our board and staff.”
