In the wake of stellar performances accompanied by the glamour of the red carpet, the 2015 Grammys comprised an evening to remember.

It’s a little known fact that the 17th largest music awards ceremony in the nation and the largest in Pennsylvania, is held annually here in the Lehigh Valley! Presented by the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association (GLVMA) and ArtsQuest, LVMA16 will be hosted by The Hawk’s own Rick Michaels, the 16th Annual Lehigh Valley Music Awards are fast approaching on March 8th at ArtsQuest’s Musikfest Café, and YOU are invited!

With a fount of performances sure to delight anyone’s taste in music, this event is not to be missed! In addition, the area has voted, and enjoy watching our favorites be recognized for their hard work in a variety of categories, including the new “Discovered Artist Award”, hosted by Discover Lehigh Valley, a new category to this year’s awards.

For those wondering how this may benefit the valley, all proceeds fund this year’s high school scholarships to be awarded, assisting in furthering the higher education of three high school seniors, chosen from Becca High, Liberty High School and the LV Charter High School for the Performing Arts, who are pursuing an education in the music industry.

This year’s Community Youth Award Recipient, Wyatt Newhard, an extraordinary young man who has been dealing with a cancer diagnosis AND raising money to benefit others like him, will not only be a guest, but will be performing, to boot! The Lehigh Valley Pediatric Cancer Foundation will be there giving out information and accepting donations in his honor.

Can you think of a better cause than helping kids?? We can’t!
