Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley recently hosted its 5th annual “She Nailed It!” competition and fundraiser. The event was held Monday May 1st at the ArtsQuest Musikfest Café in Bethlehem.
This year’s 5th annual She Nailed It! competition and fundraiser was hosted by Senator Lisa Boscola and Steph Wells from B104, who were joined by Executive Director Holly Edinger. Our signature event sponsors included Lowe’s, RCN, B104/WFMZ, QNB Bank, Jaindl Properties and American Bank. Other event sponsors included, J.G. Petrucci Company, Inc., Liberty Property Trust, Buckno, Lisicky & Company, and New Tripoli Bank. The event followed in last year’s footsteps and was a great success for the Lehigh Valley community.

The hammers were flying as 19 relay teams of women were challenged to hammer four nails in the fastest time. Participating teams included Boyle Babes (Boyle Construction), The Polished Nails (MKSD Architects), Peoples Security, New Bethany Builders (New Bethany Ministries), Happily Hammered (Lafayette Ambassador Bank), Heavy Hitters (The Barn), Pneumatic Pnailers (The Barn), Hopeful Hammerers (The Barn), Thrivent Builds (Thrivent Financial),The Hammer Heads (PennCap Properties), Hammer Bees (B104), Jaindl Properties and American Bank Team, QUN Nail Busters (QNB Bank), The Restorer’ers (HFHLV ReStore Team), Habitat Family Hammerers (HFHLV Families), The Nail Biters (SCF Architects), Valley National Financial Group Team, The Pidcock Nail Breakers (The Pidcock Company), and the Moravian College Team.
Congratulations to the top three teams; the Pneumatic Pnailers (The Barn), Heavy Hitters (The Barn), and The Pidcock Nail Biters who helped to raise approximately $30,000!
Women Build: Beyond the monetary achievement, this event supported the National Women Build Week initiative that emphasizes and empowers female build crew contributions. In the United States, Habitat for Humanity has prioritized this week since 2012 and it has made a huge impact; raising enough funds to build homes in the Lehigh Valley.
