The cold weather didn’t stop an enthusiastic crowd from flocking to Bethlehem for the 7th Annual Parade of Shamrocks and the Crawl Daddy’s 5th Anniversary St. Paddy’s Day Crawl. The parade was filled with local high school and middle school bands, community groups, pipe bands, dancing groups, local celebrities and businesses. Participants started at 10th Avenue & Broad Street, continued east on Broad to Main Street and made its way south on Main Street, ending under the Hill-To-Hill Bridge.
For those who participated in the bar crawl their route was a little different tapping into local pubs both large and small across Bethlehem. Each year the Crawl Daddy’s St. Paddy’s Day Crawl raises funds for local charities. This year’s charity was The Center For Animal Health and Welfare. At this point it looks like this year’s donations have passed last year’s mark and will come in over 3000 dollars! That money is going to aide with two new kennels at the shelter. One in the name of Cloey. Cloey was George the Salsa Guy’s dog of 17 years who passed a few months ago, she was loved by all and all the stores on Main Street. Store owners always had snacks for her on her walks. The second kennel is going to be in the name of Crawl Daddy.
Our photographer John DelGrosso was on hand to capture highlights from this year’s festivities.
