Valley Preferred Cycling Center Opens Spring Red Robin Marty Nothstein BRL Registration

SPRING 2017 RED ROBIN MARTY NOTHSTEIN BRL REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

TREXLERTOWN, Pa. – Early Tuesday morning Valley Preferred Cycling Center executive director Marty Nothstein announced the opening of registration for the spring 2017 season of the Red Robin Marty Nothstein Bicycle Racing League.

The program is designed for riders ages 9-16 who want to build up their racing careers and also introduces new riders ages 9-16, with no previous experience, to the thrill and excitement of bicycle racing through a one of a kind youth cycling league. It is a four-team, 11-week program which takes place over the course of April, May, and June. The season culminates with the Team Finals, where all teams compete for medals and also receive Red Robin gift cards at night’s end.

Additionally, selected riders compete during the Red Robin All-Stars on June 10, which is a World Series of Bicycle night. Riders get the opportunity to ride under the bright lights in front of a large crowd and rub elbows with some of the most decorated riders in track cycling today.

“The Red Robin Marty Nothstein BRL is the premier introductory youth cycling program in the United States,” said Nothstein. “It is a program that thousands of riders have gone through and is a starting point for Olympic careers for some, just like myself. We are honored to have Red Robin back as a sponsor to help get more kids in the Lehigh Valley on bikes.”

For the small $75 registration fee, riders receive hands-on, certified coaching and training from coaches hand-picked by Nothstein, who is an Olympic gold and silver medalist, a team jersey, and all the necessary equipment provided for use at the track.

The program is a leader in the #ImNext campaign, which was introduced during the Spring 2016 BRL season. T-Town has a tremendous track record of producing junior world championship medalists as well as Olympians, who graduated from BRL and the Air Products Developmental Cycling Programs. Program participants are encouraged to use #ImNext on social media to show that they are on the path to becoming the next Olympian hailing from T-Town.

A new wrinkle for this year is the changing of team names to reflect some of the favorite items on Red Robin’s menu. The four team names now are Banzai, Royal, Smoke & Pepper, and Bleu Ribbon.

The Red Robin Marty Nothstein Bicycle Racing League is held twice per year, once in spring and again in the fall.
