New Position Adds Resources, Flexibility To Acela

Allentown, Pa.  – Christopher Geary, PE has joined Acela Engineering Co. as Vice President of Design, bringing more than two decades of experience to the growing firm, company president Daniel Witczak announced this week.

Geary, who has more than two decades of experience as a designer and engineer, joined the firm Aug. 15.

“Chris is exactly the type of ‘long-range visionary’ our clients have come to expect from Acela.  He is a master at utilizing technology in the design of a project to bring about wide spread savings to our client.  These savings go far beyond just the cost of designing a project, but bring about significant savings during construction and even the long term use of the site”, said Witczak.

Acela serves as the borough engineer for Coplay Borough and works with clients throughout eastern Pennsylvania and New York state. Acela offers site/civil engineering and land surveying services for all type land development projects.  They also provide GIS analysis, structural engineering, GPS construction modeling as well as airport engineering and project management services.

Geary, of North Whitehall Township began his career designing land development projects in 1994 as a draftsman with a local engineering firm.  In 2012 he returned to school and earned his engineering degree from Lafayette College and professional engineer certification from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 2015. He most recently worked for Barry Isett & Associates.  Throughout his career, he has designed many projects in the Lehigh Valley which have had a positive impact to most all Lehigh Valley residents.

“I have known Dan for almost 20 years. When he approached me with the opportunity to start a business of our own and provide client focused engineering, I found that very appealing,” Geary said. “We both want to stay focused on that client based approach. We both have learned a lot from past employers and want to improve on the business model from there.”
